Whats on your bookshelf??

I just finished reading Safe Haven after watching the movie and I loved it.

I used to read every Nicholas Sparks book up until my sophomore year in college and then I took a break.
It was nice to pick up one of his books again and read one of those only in fiction love stories.

I am currently reading The Gospel and The Reason for God as part of my quiet time and bible study with my small group but I am looking for another book that is just because.

So tell me whats on your bookshelf.
What do you recommend?

  1. How was Safe Haven? I really wanted to go see it when it came out, but haven't made it there yet!

  2. I used to love Nicholas Sparks, but I've found that once I was in a serious relationship--all the romance books just don't cut it. Not realistic.
I did like this book though. In fact, I purchased it recently to read it before seeing the movie and realized two pages in I had already read it! Lol.
Right now I'm working on Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers (for the 3rd time). It's such a great reminder of selfless love (it's a realistic love story). I'm also working on The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm. Really good.

  3. LOVED Safe Haven. The book and the move...and Josh Duhammel :-)

I just finished Love the one you're with by Emily Giffin. It was really good.

  4. Heaven is for Real by Tood Burpo
Bonhoeffer: pastor, prophet, martyr, spy (forget the author??)He was a Lutherna pastor who really stood up to Hitler, and was even involved in an assassination attempt on Hitler's life. He didn't back down and died a martyr.
The Lost Wife by Alyson Richman...think 'The Notebook' set up in pre-war Europe...really good historical fiction love story!
Also 'The Seven Levels of Intimacy' by Matthew Kelly. We read it when we were dating and my hubs recommends it to all our dating/engaged/married friends :)

  5. I just finished The Fault in Our Stars, it's now one of my favorites! I actually just did a review on it today over at my blog, you should check it out and see if you'd like it! It's a life changer :) Now, I'm reading The Paris Wife, I've heard good things so hopefully it turns out that way!
